The must-haves for filming
Before any type of bike ride (long distance or short training) it is important to check the elements that will allow you to prevent accidents, ride safely and enjoy the ride without setbacks.
- Dress
The night before the ride, put together a kind of “dummy” that lets you know that nothing is missing from your outfit. Put together your look from your shoes, through your socks, chamois, jersey and helmet. Make sure that everything matches and that nothing is missing. Never forget your windbreaker and sunglasses. The weather can be deceiving you at the time of departure.
- Check the weather conditions
Download the Early Warning System APP to check the forecast and the behavior of the rains. This will allow you to adjust your route if necessary or modify your plans for that day.
- Charge your phone
Carrying your mobile phone with a charged battery will allow you to take photos and videos of the landscapes and moments you encounter. It is also a good idea to have it with you in case you have any difficulties on the road.
- Bring some cash
Along the roads you will find places where you can support farmers and entrepreneurs who sell their products. Having some cash on hand will allow you to enjoy the delights of the region you visit on your bike.
- Have your bike mechanically checked
Investing a few minutes in this point can save you more than one headache on the road:
- Check that the tires are properly attached to the frame, move them from side to side to make sure they are tight.
- Gently push the wheels to confirm that they are not being slowed down by any obstacles.
- Confirm that the air level in your tires is adequate.
- Check that your safety lights are charged
- Organize your tools
Depending on the type of tire you have, you will need to carry basic items to protect yourself in case of a puncture: a patch kit, a spare tire, a pump or pipette, levers, and a hex key that will save you if you need to tighten a screw.
- Charge your gadgets
The night before, don't forget to charge the batteries of your cycle computer, watch or sensors that will measure your training.
- Prepare the feeding
Plan ahead for your ride. Typically, for a session lasting more than 1 hour, you need to replenish 60 grams of carbohydrates every 45 minutes.
Additionally, don't forget to perform regular maintenance and tuning of your bike. Remember that tuning is a basic cleaning and lubrication of the bike, while maintenance involves more in-depth work that will give more life to the components of your riding companion.
