Santa Barbara, a batch of solidarity
A purple, multi-wheeled vehicle covered the Medellín – Santa Bárbara route to carry 600 legs and 300 hearts dressed as cyclists to deliver smiles and solidarity to this municipality in southwestern Antioquia.

The meeting was in Mercados del Río. It was there that a group of amateur athletes set off on a caravan to Santa Bárbara. This roadside town with doors always open is going through a difficult time today due to the rainy season and has changed its Sunday routine to welcome visitors on two wheels.
The group first extended along Avenida Regional heading south, took the bypass to the Municipality of Caldas and climbed the 8.9 kilometers of Alto de Minas, which is a must for lovers of cranks in Antioquia. A stretch that was the share of suffering and high heart rate that brought as a reward a pause in Versalles in the warmth of the delights of this district that welcomes you with almojábanas, buñuelos, cheese bread and other pastries that are a trophy when you reach a mythical port.
A few kilometres later, the group arrived at their destination to find the products and delicacies of this area that has that beautiful mix between the characteristics of the cold land and the hot land and that stands out among the mountains for the kindness and generosity of its people who have maintained their smile despite the difficult stretch they have to go through.
Cycling, like life, is a journey that we seem to be pedalling alone. But if you go as a team, you can put wheels on the wheel of those who need it, set the pace and, if necessary, give them a push when your legs can't take it anymore.
A bike, like a bridge, can unite wills, companies and hearts around a good cause that becomes the best of peaks.
