Triathlon without a bike? For Rafa, everything is possible
Rafael Carrillo, 20, lives in one of the most beautiful places on the map of Colombia: San Andrés Island. There, wherever he looks, he finds an infinite horizon that resembles his way of seeing life. For Rafa, there are no limits and he crossed paths with triathlon to prove it.
And speaking of stories that can be found, we found his at the Morgan Challenge to record here the inspiring message left to us by this Cartagena native who has already pocketed his first official competition in this sport that offers lessons at every kilometer.
Rafael Carrillo trained and trained like many others. With water in his backyard and streets that prepared him to do well in athletics at the event. As for cycling, the story was different. He only trained for one week in this discipline and it was there that he completed the elements that allowed him to reach his goal. This hero armed himself with a bike provided by Uranium and dressed himself in Terret's skin to display his powers in San Andrés. We teamed up with him to give him a place in the competition and write with him this happy beginning to this story that still has a lot to tell.
With little experience on wheels, he showed us that what lies ahead is a horizon as infinite as the blue sea that surrounds him. Rafa insisted on his dream and achieved it. He made his way through the difficulties of the road and won the medal. Yes, he is a triathlete without a bike but rich in convictions that will take him far.
With two decades of life, while studying to be an accountant, he already knows what he wants and is achieving it: inspiring others to practice sports and have healthier lifestyle habits. Rafael's dreams left the island, crossed the sea and came to motivate stories of athletes who dedicate themselves to something else.
